Prayers for La Palma

Our Archdeaconry Synod secretary has passed on an update from Judith Rigby, lay Synod representative from Tenerife North.
She says:   “as a ministry team we are visiting La Palma on Tuesday to pray with and listen to the community there. Still many tens of earthquakes each day and the sound of the volcano is going 24hours. It was described by one of them on Sunday as ranging from a coffee pot coming to the boil to a fighter jet taking off. It´s tough for them all. A number of the congregation have lost homes and livelihoods. Few are left on the island. We are going to support those who are.

We are asked to hold in our prayers the people of La Palma, especially those who are part of our Archdeaconry family, and pray also for the ministry team of Tenerife North as they travel there to offer comfort and support.

Chaplaincy bus trip to Gibraltar, to support Fr. Marcus

We have organised a bus and a one night hotel in the hopes that we can get 40 people to go to Gibraltar for Fr Marcus’s Installation.    The cost (if 40+) will be €86 pp (€24 single supplement).  Including Breakfast.  The hotel is 5km out of Gib but the driver will take us in for the service and pick up afterwards (times that we tell him)  The bus will leave Albir but cars can be left on the municiple car park.    Your local warden will be announcing this on Sunday.  If we can only get 30, the price will be €105pp inc breakfast.

A proposed coach trip to Gibraltar for Fr Marcus’s Installation – more details when we know how much interest there is. Please contact Elaine albirchurch@gmail.com or Fr Paul frpaulddean@gmail.com or your local church warden.
