Here is a really advanced notice:

We have booked a two night stay from 10th June to 12th June in the 3* Hotel SUBUR in SITGES  (not to be confused with Subur Maritin).

The price is €273 each for a double room and €363 for a single.      We have 13 doubles and 3 singles booked.   The travel agent worked really hard to find a suitable hotel and this is in an excellent location and close to everything.

The weekend is very popular and many hotels are already full – yes full for June 2023!!!      People come from all over the world for this spectacular event.      This will be a Chaplaincy Wide trip but obviously on a first come first served basis.

The hotel have told the Travel Agent that due to the booking being at a busy time they need 50% of the payment before 25 January and the balance  before 30 March – just so that you are aware.

Also due to the high occupation they have strict a cancellation politic:-

from 06/02/2023 charge 35%

from  05/04/2023 charge 85%

from 05/05/2023 charge 100%

Now I know what you might be thinking – Saturday night and Sunday night – well, our Clergy have already thought this though about the Sunday and it will be covered for all of the services to go ahead.

Here is some information to whet your appetite.

Corpus Christi is a feast held every year on the second Thursday after Pentecost. The celebration is associated with the commemoration of Jesus’s Last Supper with his Apostles before His crucifixion. We celebrate it in Church but some places celebrate the feat in a really special way.   During the Corpus celebration in Sitges, many patios and other spaces are decorated.  The streets are hung with banners and some of them also with artistic decorations or bowers. Carpets of flowers adorn the main streets of Sitges , which is just 35 kilometres from Barcelona.    Sitges is filled with colour and the aroma of flowers during the celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi.     The highlight of the festivity takes place on the feast day itself, when the local residents create carpets of petals from carnations and other flowers. A jury awards prizes to the best carpets, all made with exquisite taste and devotion. Later, the procession of the Holy Sacrament passes over these works of art that adorn the main streets.  The Corpus Christi festivities

As I said above, there are 13 double rooms and 3 singles.
