22 May 2018 – 19:30 Calpe – Chaplaincy Singers – Welcome!
After their debut performances of ‘The Gift’ to celebrate Christmas in 2017 the Chaplaincy Singers will be performing their new concert, entitled ‘Welcome!’ on Tuesday 22nd May at Nuestra Senora de la Merced, Calpe at 19:30. (7.30pm)
The Singers, under the direction of Philip Ashley, have blended together popular and classical pieces in what they believe will be an uplifting and enjoyable evening for all. Music ranges from ‘Pachelbel’s Canon’ to ‘Hail Holy Queen’ (as made famous by Whoopi Golberg in the film ‘Sister Act’), also included are some classic church pieces with new arrangements. Tickets cost €10 which includes the concert and a drink, and are available from members of the Chaplaincy Singers or by calling 96 648 2467.
7 Jun 2018 – 19:30 La Fustera – Caprice perform “Summertime”
All ladies choir, Caprice are delighted to be performing at The Anglican Church, La Fustera, Benissa on Thursday 7th June at 7.30pm. The concert, entitled ‘Summertime’ will include some of the group’s favourite musical theatre songs plus music by Gershwin, The Carpenters and Cole Porter, together with a few madrigals and popular songs, including the lovely ‘A Thousand Years’. The varied programme will ensure that there is something to appeal to all tastes.
As usual the choir will be conducted by their musical director, Aileen Lightfoot, and accompanied on the piano by Kirsty Glen and will be singing in three part harmony, with the lovely blend of female voices which works really well for both the jazzy songs and the slow lyrical ballads which are becoming the group’s trademark. Various members will also be singing solos and duets, showcasing their talents.

8 Jun 2018 – 18:00 Denia – Chaplaincy Singers – “Welcome”
In a second performance, this time in the north of the Chaplaincy, the Chaplaincy Singers will be performing their new concert, entitled ‘Welcome!’ on Friday 8th June at the Ermita, Las Roatas, Denia at 18:00. We invite attendees to bring a picnic to enjoy after the concert in the beautiful Cloisters of the venue.
