Mamma Mia across the miles

On Monday the Chaplaincy Abba themed fundraiser in the garden of Andrew & Kathy Johnson, in Calpe attracted 120 people, many in full 70s Abba gear. But not all those people were in the garden. Their friends, Chris & Rowena, who have property in Altea were not back from the UK. They were “grumpy” about missing the party, so decided to have one of their own. 30 of the party goers, mostly in the proper garb, gathered at their home near Bude, Cornwall.

The music belted out, and the party goers ate, drank, danced and sang along.

The most adventurous part of the evening was a live link on the big screens between the two events, both of which were raising funds for the Chaplaincy. Two late comers to technology, Chris and Andrew were very proud of making it work, and all 120 were able to share the fun.

Cava draw tickets, a full raffle etc. and a few donations helped with the fabulous result of in excess of €2000!

Thank you to the team who erected (and dismantled) the rig, tested the technology, provided everything that was key to this success. And a very special thank you to the 120 folk who turned up and generously supported the work of the Chaplaincy yet again.
